How LearnWithBee works
Every word is spoken before it is read, the app listens while you read it back, and help arrives at the pause rather than in the middle of the sentence.
The LearnWithBee Reading Method
Six phases, one loop. This is the platform’s own definition of the Method, quoted exactly.
- LISTEN
- The learner hears the sound, word, or sentence read aloud by the AI. Optional but recommended as the first step for new content.
- OBSERVE
- The text is presented visually with appropriate illustration. The learner sees the shape of the word or sentence.
- PRACTICE
- The learner reads aloud. Azure Speech evaluates. The Bee responds without interrupting mid-flow.
- CORRECT
- At natural pause points, the Bee surfaces specific words or sounds that need work and models them. The Bee models the fix with the platform's sound-out-then-blend method: each syllable spoken in isolation (SSML IPA hints, so "py" is voiced /pi/, not /paɪ/), a beat between, then blended into the whole word at natural speed — the written word splitting into highlighted chunks, then rejoining as it's spoken. One-syllable words are modeled once.
- MASTER
- Repeated practice across multiple activities builds automaticity. Honey and the lesson's mastery cell mark progress.
- APPLY
- The learned skill appears in subsequent contexts — in stories, in functional reading, in comprehension exercises — reinforcing transfer.
Made to be understood before it is read
Meaning beyond text
Pictures, sound and motion carry the task, so an activity can be completed without reading its instructions. Every picture field takes an emoji or an image.
A miss is never a red X
Three tries marks the step practiced, the answer is revealed, and the lesson moves on. Nothing is scored against the reader and nothing blocks them.

The Bee’s voice and pace
A grown-up sets the voice, the reading speed and how long the Bee waits before helping — and can lock all three so they stay put.
Legibility stays with the reader
Text size, typeface, spacing, contrast and reduced motion sit outside that lock, on purpose. How text looks is never something a reader has to ask for.
A child never signs up
A grown-up creates each reader profile. The age screen at sign-up means a child on their own cannot complete it.
